Hazel refusing to go to bed because of a good book!

Thank you to all who read my book. After so many hours, months, years moving all those words around on pages, its amazing to have other people interacting with the final result.

A few cherished readers reviewed the book before publication and their thoughts have been included on the back of the book.

But here are some words from others:

“I’m on chapter 11. Just wanted to say I wish I could sit and read until I’m done but work and the yard keeps getting in the way. I absolutely love your book! And I really want to visit Haida Gwaii!! Congratulations on writing such a wonderful story and I can so relate to being a young Alberta girl moving to BC!! I hope you write many more novels and I will be in line to buy them.”

“Hi! I’ve been home with sick kids for the last couple of days and I got a chance to read your book. I absolutely loved it. The story was captivating….. the mystery that unravels is just too good to put down, and when I did have to put the book aside the story was still on my mind. I grew up in Saskatchewan and moved here to I was 11, so there was so much about the story that I could align myself with. Your line about following the water unlocked memories for me of doing the drive between provinces so many times. There was, of course, no technology to distract us on the drive and I would pretend I could fly like Peter Pan and was so disappointed when the highway would lose the river. Something else your story reminded me of, was the craziness of being a young adult. Not only just the willingness to be adventurous and to take risks, but you captured the youthfulness in a way that older people forget about as they grow out of. I remembered EXACTLY how it was to be completely fucking clueless, without being stupid. I am so grateful that I got an opportunity to read this story.”

“It’s great rainy day weekend reading! Great page turner, amazing imagery. I’m totally immersed.”

“Hazel finished it on the weekend and loved it! They said it made them miss Haida Gwaii a lot and loved learning more about forestry.”

Thank you so much. If anyone else feels like sharing thoughts, you can do so below or on Goodreads or Amazon or all the other places (phoning me also works).
